Fires, Quakes, Floods & Hurricanes Update & Help – October 12, 2017
Hello everyone!
I wanted to update you on what’s happening in my life as of late. Due to the fact I have been very busy actually helping with various causes, on every platform possible, posting on my blog has been last on my list of priorities. I have been utilizing various platforms such as FB, IG and the phone to personally call on friends and drive donations to credible organizations that aid in disaster.
As a person who has lost one home, animals and all of its contents in a fire, I feel the sting each and every time a fire tears through a community. Apart from this blog, over the years I have created several Facebook cause pages that serve to assist in real time, and a disaster blog How To Find Your Pets After A Disaster to help people find their animals after the unthinkable strikes their community and all is lost. Since I cannot possibly do this for every catastrophe that occurs, I tend to focus on those that lack support or resources and use grass roots organizations to assist. Please share it with anyone you know who is looking for a lost animal.
In Northern California alone we have lost 31 human lives and countless animals. There are approximately 1,100 missing persons and over 3,500 structures to fires.
I’d like to offer my condolences to everyone who is suffering as a result of the recent hurricanes, earthquakes, fires that have swept across our nation and abroad. My prayers are with those of you in the torn areas of California, Florida, Texas, The Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico and Mexico.
Whether you want to raise money, donate to, or volunteer for the victims of these wildfires, the people of Northern California are going to need your help. Nothing is more heartbreaking than to know there isn’t much more my two hands, two feet, brain and body can do to help.
